Idaho Firewise Grant Awards

2014

Idaho Project Learning Tree: received $3,000 to implement Wildifres and Weeds Workshops for teachers 

Nez Perce Tribe: received $1000 to have wrap graphics printed for their fire prevention/information trailer.

Boise Fire Department: received $1,500 for educational signs for the Firewise demonstration garden at station 12. 

Valley County: received $7,000 to implement a woody debris collection program for the communities of McCall, Donnelly, and Cascade during the month of June. 

Treasure Valley fire Prevention and Safety  Co-op: received $400 to host a celebration of Smokey Bear's 70th birthday on on August 10th at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

2013

Idaho Project Learning Tree: received $3,000 to implement Wildifres and Weeds Workshops for teachers 

Conkling Park Community Association: received $200 to create fire restrictions signs for the community.

Ada County Soil and Water Conservation District: received $600 to implement a 5th grade field day in September.

Valley County: received $6,000 to implement a woody debris collection program for the communities of McCall, Donnelly, and Cascade during the month of June.

North Central Idaho Fire Prevention Co-op: received $4,700 to bring a troupe of performing artists to rural schools in north central Idaho in spring 2014. They will be performing a program called "Fire Speaks the Land".

Boise Fire Department: received $1,500 for educational signs for the Firewise demonstration garden at station 1.

2012

Treasure Valley Fire Prevention Co-op: received $250 to purchase giveaways for their annual fire prevention event. 

Idaho Project Learning Tree: received $3,000 to implement Wildifres and Weeds Workshops for teachers.

Central Foothills Neighborhood Association: received $3,000 to create a Firewise demonstration site within their neighborhood.

2011

Eagle Fire Department: Received $8,000 to create a website and develop signs for the Healthy Hills Initiative.

Silver City Fire and Rescue: Received $2,000 for the Owhyee Firewise Conference.

Bonner County Weed Department: Received $5,000 to assist with the printing of weed control handbooks which now include a section on wildland fire preparation and prevention.
